This big station with its long wide canopied platform was totally rebuilt in 1990 as part of the Aire Valley electrification scheme and in the process lost platform faces and track length in the process as the terminus was shifted north reducing the lines original length. The original Midland terminus mileage being 208m 58ch but now it's 208m 50ch. Adrian Nicholls.

 DMU

A dmu departs northward for Ilkley in 1985 from the wide open spaces of the ex-Midland Railway Bradford Forster Square terminal station. I am the only person interested in the dmu - everyone else is looking to the right where West Country pacific 34092 City of Wells is on a special train. This scene has been completely deleted - even the road overbridge - and the new minimal facilities station is located behind the camera. Pete LG99.

Not much was happening & by this time most of the station was derelict, the few remaining trains concentrated on the 2 westernmost platforms. The goods yard and sidings to the left were disused & about to be lifted. Pete LG99.
